12 days of Christmas Holiday Music Edition

Nothing gets me in the mood for Halloween  Christmas like hearing Christmas music. I just came home from my youngest winter concert. Which means I am definitely in the Christmas music mood. Plus, they didn't sing Deck the Halls, which is a song I absolutely CAN NOT stand. It never fails to put me in a bad mood. Wondering why? Think about being a youngin' with the name Holly. Now image what I REALLY heard.

"Deck the halls with BOWELS of Holly"

Kids are cruel. I hated that song. I still hate that song. I rant often that I am going to pass around a petition to have it banned. I hated my name forever because of that song.

Ok enough ranting. The concert was super cute. They have the BEST music/choir teacher ever. She has the kindergartners dress in PJ's and Reindeer antlers. The entire auditorium swoons. Its THAT cute.

So what Christmas songs do I like? Ones that don't involve hanging up my intestines, that's what. So here is my top 5 favorite Christmas songs.

Jingle Bell Rock

Silent Night

Sweet Little Jesus Boy

Carol of the Belts by Here Comes the Mummies

I like Deck the Halls but only the funny version....you know. Deck the halls with gasoline, light a match and watch it gleam.....

  2. Great videos and some great musical choices, but am I the only one creeped out by those weird CGI reindeer in the Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer video? Especially Rudolph, when the video pans into his dead, lifeless expression as he stares deep into your soul. Am... am I about to be murdered?

    1. Thanks! I love your boyband songs too. I was crushed when I didn't get tickets to see 98 degrees and NKOTB last summer.

  5. Oh my goodness that Mean Girls scene gets me in the Christmas spirit EVERY TIME. ...and I had that same issue with the song America the Beautiful and the lyric "amber waves of grain". NO ONE BELIEVES AMBER IS A COLOR.

  6. Oh mean girls, you sassy little word vomit blast from my past, how I miss thee. Plus it's nice to see LiLo before she lost her mind and brutalized that gorgeous red hair of hers (silly silly celebrity). I hadn't heard the Kelly Clarkson song so it was awesome jamming out to it as loudly as possible just now. Loved it, plus it drove grinchy Manfriend nuts, which is a... bonus! :) Thanks for sharing and for fueling my impromptu dance off against myself.

    Keep it Sassy & Classy,

    1. They really do. I was so obsessed with my kids having names that wouldn't get teased, that I practically harassed everyone I met with their names, asking them if they really liked their names.
