What I fear

Aside from my irrational fear of snakes. Ok so that's not really irrational, but being attacked and killed by a snake is kind of irrational considering I've only ever seen like 2 in the wild and both times they just slithered away. Of course I'm never "in the wild" so maybe that is why I've never reall seen any. I also have a fear of serial killers.

I probably shouldn't watch horror movies, or read true crime.....and I'm sure my minor in criminology was a stupid choice because now I'm peterified to leave my house after dark. Also I am terrified of the zombie apocalypse.

On a more serious note my biggest fear is fucking up my kids lives. Not the I didn't buy them everything they asked for or let them stay out until whenever kinda fuck up. The kind that leaves them not trusting people, the kind that leaves them clueless how to have a relationship, because they've never seen a healthy marriage. The kind that they have issues with their self esteem because they don't feel like they are good enough or measure up to others. The kind of fuck up that leaves them wandering through life wondering what they should be doing. They kind that doesn't give them the tools to get out of sticky situations or take care of themselves when they have to. The kind of fuck up that creates unproductive members of society, not just unproductive but a drain.

I want to create children that live up to the potential, doing what they love, living how THEY want to live, and enjoying life while giving back somehow.

I think it looks like I am doing an ok job....but I still worry.

  2. OMG I laughed hard at that monsters quote. I think we all have that same fuck up fear in some way or another. We do the best we can with what we are giving. Love the photobomb!

  3. F-ing up people's lives is precisely why I didn't (and my breeding time is almost over) have kids! That's a lot of pressure! But it looks like you have 2 lovely girls! And that you care enough to worry about makes me think they will turn out great :)
Thank you for stopping by my blog!

  4. Your children are lucky to have you, you think every mom out there would be as adamant about Emma's education as you?! Not a chance. They're going to turn out great. They already are.

The zombie apocalypse though, that's legit. You better prepare them for that.

  5. Oh, come on. A zombie apocalypse would be loads of fun.

The rebuilding *afterwards* I'd happily leave to you, because that part would seriously suck; but the zombie part would be the adventure camping trip to beat them all. :D

    2. Phhht, please. It's an opportunity to freely bash in heads with a mallet, with no resulting social or legal repercussions.

I know exactly what your temper is like. You'd love it, even while you were complaining the whole time about the mess. :p

  7. The dark scares me too. Especially when I watch crime shows right before I get in bed. When will I learn?!

  8. My biggest phobia is execution. A bit strange, given I live in a country that doesn't even have execution.
